Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the U.S. should send more powerful weapons to Ukraine.
The Voice of America reports this.
“As Russia sends combat power to the front, Ukrainian soldiers need more weapons. They need more powerful weapons. And they need more weapons to safely counter Russia’s offensive forces,” the senator said.
He called on the Joe Biden administration to explain whether it will continue to provide Ukraine with longer-range missiles and provide anti-ship missiles “so Ukraine can target Russian threats to Ukrainian Black Sea ports.”
McConnell stressed that one should not be afraid to irritate or humiliate Putin and those “who are concerned about escalation should consider what Putin will do to their (Ukrainian – ed.) cities if Ukraine does not stop him.
